Established in 1885 as Jesse D. Ludlam Insurance Agency by Jesse D. Ludlam on Main Street in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. When the business began, Mr. Ludlam was busy insuring horses and buggies.

After working at the agency for many years, Harry G. Mossbrook partnered with Mr. Ludlam in November of 1972. Fifteen years later, Harry and his wife June Mossbrook bought out John Ludlam. They are proud to have helped establish this family owned and operated business. Son Harry D. Mossbrook joined the business in 1981, Son-in-Law Orton H. Hicks III came on board in 1989, while son Edward C. Mossbrook was a welcome addition in 1997.

More than a century after opening its doors, the insurance agency started by Mr. Ludlam still resides in the same building on Main Street in Cape May Court House. It is no wonder that the residents and business owners in Cape May County know and trust them. Mossbrook & Hicks Insurance Agency, Inc. is not limited to their Cape May County family, they service second homeowners, as well as boaters who set sail from the beautiful Jersey Shore.
